Tiger Pathways

Tiger Pathways is a co-enrollment bridge program between Moberly Area Community College (MACC) and Mizzou for students that were previously denied to Mizzou. While enrolled in this program students are degree seeking at MACC and non-degree seeking at Mizzou. Tiger Pathways students will work collaboratively with academic advisers, faculty and staff at both campuses to ensure academic success.

While enrolled in this program students are degree seeking at MACC and non-degree seeking at Mizzou. Tiger Pathways students have access to MACC and Mizzou services and facilities including residence halls, the library, recreation center, student organizations and athletic events.

Enrollment in Tiger Pathways is limited and applications will be available until the program reaches capacity. All scholarships, federal financial and state aid (including A+) is reviewed and administered through MACC’s Financial Aid Office.

Program Benefits

Co-enrollment. Tiger Pathways students enroll in coursework at MACC and Mizzou. Tiger Pathways students take MACC courses (9 to 12 hours) and Mizzou courses (1 to 6 hours) to ensure efficient use of time and financial resources.

Enhanced academic preparation through advising on both campuses. Integrating coursework between the two campuses allows a student to establish a Mizzou GPA, which eases the transition into Mizzou degree programs.

Registration. Tiger Pathways students starting this program in the fall may register for Mizzou courses as of the last day of early registration. Registration for MACC courses begins in April.

A+ Scholarship. Qualifying Tiger Pathways students may use A+ funds toward MACC’s tuition and fees if enrolled in 12 or more credit hours between MACC and Mizzou, with a minimum enrollment of 9 of those credit hours taken at MACC.

Eligibility

To be eligible, students need to have applied for freshman admission at Mizzou and have been denied. Students must have either a minimum 17 ACT Composite (920 SAT equivalent) or a 2.50 minimum high school grade point average.

Application Process

Students who apply for freshman admission to the University of Missouri and are denied are eligible for Tiger Pathways. After being notified that they are denied, students will see Tiger Pathways program information and the short Tiger Pathways application on their Mizzou Application Status page.

Billing and Costs

Students receive account statement information from both Mizzou and MACC. Students must make payments at both institutions as the accounts are managed separately. Students are required to select a payment plan at Mizzou each semester. Contact the MU Cashiers Office for information about payments. Email notifications will be sent out ahead of each due date and as new charges and/or credits are added. On-demand statements are always available in TouchNet for Mizzou students and their authorized users to view current charges.

Estimated Costs

Students receiving an offer of acceptance into the Tiger Pathways program must pay the $300 Mizzou enrollment fee to secure their place.

Tuition and fees are based on a per-credit-hour basis, so overall costs may vary. Net price calculators are available on both the Mizzou and MACC websites.

Financial Aid

Financial aid for Tiger Pathways students is disbursed by MACC’s Financial Aid Office.

Students are encouraged to file a FASFA with MACC (school code 002491). MACC has several scholarships for which Tiger Pathways students may apply if they meet eligibility guidelines. Questions regarding financial aid at MACC should be sent to finaid@macc.edu.

Mizzou financial aid and scholarships are not available to Tiger Pathways students until the student transfers to Mizzou as a full-time, degree-seeking student.

Tiger Pathways students wishing to use financial aid to assist with MU costs must work with MACC’s financial aid office to sign consortium agreement paperwork.

Missouri A+ Scholarship

A+ funding is available during the fall and spring semesters to eligible students enrolled in at least 12 credits per semester between both institutions, with a minimum of 9 credit hours at MACC. Students must enroll in a minimum of 6 hours at MACC to use A+ funding during the summer. A+ funding cannot be applied to Mizzou tuition and fees.

Advising

Academic advising for Mizzou courses is provided by advisers from Mizzou’s Transfer Center who work with academic department advisers on behalf of the student. Advising for MACC courses is provided by MACC. The transfer of academic information will be coordinated by academic advisers on both campuses.

Student Life

Housing

Tiger Pathways students are eligible to live on campus in MU Residential Life-operated housing with a dining plan. Tiger Pathways students are eligible to participate in Fraternity & Sorority Life at Mizzou.

Students not planning to live in on-campus housing at Mizzou can use Off-Campus Student Services for help finding housing.

Student Life & Student Services

Tiger Pathways students have full access to all Mizzou and MACC services (standard fees required) and extracurricular activities, including Fraternity & Sorority Life, the library, recreation center, student health, technology labs and more than 600 student organizations.

Transportation

Students must find their own transportation between Mizzou and MACC’s campuses, which is 2.7 miles. There is no shuttle transportation provided.

Progressing Through the Program

Students must complete a minimum of 24 hours, including at least 18 hours at MACC and 4 hours at MU within a 12-month period, and maintain a 2.0 GPA at each institution. A minimum of 9 credits at MACC is required each semester (fall and spring). We encourage students to take at least 15 hours per semester in order to graduate in four years from most bachelor’s degree programs. The maximum number of terms for participation in the Tiger Pathways program is five, excluding summer terms.

After completing the Tiger Pathways program (or earlier if determined by the student and academic advisers), the student may apply for transfer admission to Mizzou as a degree-seeking student, pay the application fee and supply copies of all required documents, including transcripts from schools the student might have attended other than Mizzou and MACC. The student will not be required to pay the $300 enrollment fee or attend transfer orientation.

By opting into the Tiger Pathways program, students will have their transcripts exchanged between Mizzou and MACC at not cost. This ensures credits can be used at both institutions for program progression and application toward both the associate and bachelor degrees.

We encourage students who transfer to Mizzou before earning their AA degree to opt-in to the Missouri Reverse Transfer program which allows students to have their Mizzou coursework evaluated and used by MACC to progress toward earning their associate of arts degree.
