Hometown: Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul
Home Country: Brazil
Major: Journalism with a minor in Agribusiness Management
Languages I speak: Portuguese and English
Why Mizzou: The J-School is the best journalism school in country! The J-School can open so many doors for you during and after college. If there is one thing I learned from my time here is that if you go to any Journalism related agency or company, you will find a J-School alum there.
Favorite class taken: J1100 – Principles of Journalism in Democracy. It was one of the first journalism classes I took and it truly made me realize I chose the right major; it really opened my eyes to what Journalism really is and what I can do with it.
Favorite professor: Nick Matthews, J1100. I loved going to his class and never missed one. It was clear his love and knowledge of Journalism. He’s also super open to talking with students and had what he called coffee chats, which allowed students to go to him and talk about anything but class.
Favorite Mizzou Memory: Winning against kU this year in football! It was an electrical experience and once in a lifetime opportunity, especially because it was the first time Mizzou played kU in football after a 14-year hiatus, and that won’t happen again for a very long time. But everyone was so excited, cheering and singing to Mr. Brightside, it was something I’ll never forget.
Favorite weekend activity on campus: Going to football games during Fall semester. The town just comes alive during football season, people wearing Mizzou merch, alumni and families coming to watch the game, the warm weather, the tailgates and the excitement you can feel in the air. Saturdays in Columbia are definitely one of my favorite things in the world.
