What is the Missouri Method?

Mizzou students gain firsthand experience right from the start of their college journey through the Missouri Method, our philosophy of learning-by-doing, wherein students find their voices by using them first.

You’ll work alongside professors in research labs, treat real patients at one of the top hospitals in the state, or report for KOMU, our NBC-affiliated, student-staffed newsroom. You might even present to state and national legislators.

At Mizzou, building your resume begins long before graduation, so you can gain the skills you need to carry into your career.

Ask big questions.

Your undergraduate experience at Mizzou will include the chance to participate in research. Undergraduate researchers develop their own questions, devise their own methods for finding answers and discover new knowledge based on their results. As early as your freshman year, you’ll conduct research in science labs, field sites, libraries, art studios, campus museums, archives and across the globe.
