Ashley Yong

Darien, Illinois
Sophomore, journalism with minors in business and hospitality management

Ashley Yong credits her success at Mizzou to getting involved in campus organizations: MUTV, the Missouri Unions Programing Board and Summer Welcome, to name a few. She also values the opportunity to sharpen her leadership skills and encourage diversity and social justice on campus. Of course, the School of Journalism played a part in her choice of Mizzou, Ashley says.

“I came to Mizzou to get the best education possible at the number one journalism school in the nation.”

“I wanted the hands-on experience early, and I knew that was something Mizzou prioritized with the Missouri Method.”

“During my time here, I hope to implement programs and events that encourage diversity and spread awareness of social-justice issues on our campus.”
