What should you apply for?
Intensive English Program
If you want to improve your English, you can enroll in the Intensive English Program before beginning your academic coursework.
Undergraduate Studies
If you have not completed a college degree, you are an undergraduate student. This web page offers information for you on majors and minors we offer.
Graduate Studies
If you have completed a college degree, you may be eligible for graduate admission. (Graduate students receive a masters or doctoral degree when they graduate from Mizzou.) If you're looking for graduate studies, check the guidelines for graduate students.
International Students
Global Heritage Scholarship
The Global Heritage scholarship provides a 100% nonresident tuition waiver equal to approximately $7,500 per year. To qualify the student must meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • The student must have been admitted to MU and the student’s biological or adoptive parent must have graduated from the University of Missouri.
  • The student may not be a U.S. Citizen, hold a Resident Alien Card, or be a Missouri resident.
  • The student must have a combined SAT I score on Critical Reading and Math of 1200 or higher, or a composite ACT score of 27 or higher.
  • Meet the required core grade point average during the last four years of secondary school.*
  • The student must meet the minimum TOEFL score of their department.
  • The student must enroll at MU the first semester after high (secondary) school graduation.

*The secondary school core grade point average will be figured by the International Admissions Office using nationally recognized guidelines. The IAO decision will be final.

Renewal requirements
The student must meet immigration requirements for full time undergraduate students each academic year and maintain a 3.25 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).

Application procedure
Students wishing to apply for the scholarship should send a letter to the International Admissions Office at inter@missouri.edu. The letter should state:

  • The student’s name and MU ID number (if known) and the student’s date of birth.
  • The alumni parent’s name, their date of birth, the name of the degree they received from MU and the date the degree was awarded.

Please have the following documents sent to the International Admissions office:

  • An official copy of the student’s birth certificate.
  • An official high school transcript showing the date of high school (secondary school) graduation.
  • An official copy of the SAT or ACT and an official copy of the TOEFL score.
