These minimum requirements apply to general admissions of transfer students. They do not include more stringent requirements that may be established by specific schools and colleges, or the requirements of certain programs within some academic divisions.
- Transfer applicants to Mizzou must have a 2.5 GPA in college-level courses to be admissible. Transfer applicants who do not also meet Mizzou's freshman admission requirements must have completed at least 24 college-level credits and one of the following:
- A college algebra course with at least a C- grade; or
- The equivalent of Mizzou's English 1000 with at least a C- grade.
- Transfer students with an Associate in Arts (AA) degree from a regionally accredited Missouri Community College are admissible to Mizzou.
- Full-time transfer students from other UM system campuses need a 2.0 to be eligible to transfer to Mizzou.
- An applicant who does not meet the above conditions and who has not been enrolled as a full-time degree-seeking student in any college or university for at least five years may apply after successful completion (at least a 2.0 GPA) of 12 hours of Easy Access. Sometimes specific coursework will be required prior to admission.
Please note:
- Admission to Mizzou does not guarantee admission to specific programs, other than through signed articulation agreements, as some programs are highly competitive. Please see our summary of departmental transfer policies for specific requirements regarding individual schools, colleges, departments or programs.
- Students enrolling with an AA degree with 60 or more transferable academic credits and at least a 2.0 GPA will be considered as having junior level standing and having completed the general education requirements.
This action does not waive or alter any course requirements for the particular degree sought.
An applicant who does not meet these standards may petition by submitting such data to the campus faculty admissions committee as he or she considers appropriate. The committee, or the director of admissions acting under its direction, may determine who shall be admitted.
This transfer admissions policy will be evaluated at the end of five years. |
