Why did you come to Mizzou?
I was very interested in the journalism program, and knew I'd come out of college with a lot of good experience in the field. But more than that, the campus is beautiful and Columbia is an amazing city to live in. Once I saw campus, it felt like a college was supposed to feel like. It's hard to explain, so anyone reading this should just come visit and see for themselves!
When I attended Mizzou, my favorite class was / I was involved in:
I loved my classes where I worked at the Columbia Missourian, Columbia's daily morning paper. I got great hands-on experience and got to know my professors really well. I'm still friends with some of them now, even though I haven't been a student in several years!
What question are you asked most often?
"What are admission requirements?" Our site has them all listed, but you can always ask more questions.
What question do you wish students would ask?
"How do I get involved once I'm on campus?" While you'll definitely get a great education at Mizzou, the activities you get involved in outside of class will make your experience here SO much more exciting!
What compelled you to stay and work at Mizzou after graduation?
I actually didn't stay right after graduation. I was offered a job at a newspaper in Jacksonville, Fla., and lived there for about a year and a half working as a designer and copy editor. It was a great experience, but I was anxious to get back to my home state to be closer to family. And I realized that my red hair and pale skin didn't translate to beach living very well! |
