Why did you come to Mizzou?
I chose Mizzou because of the substantial amount of options I would have. It is a school with more majors and student organizations than any other in the state. It was far enough away from home that I felt like I was leaving, but not too far. It just instantly felt like my new home.
When I attended Mizzou I was involved in:
A lot! United Ambassador Minority Student Recruitment, Summer Welcome, University Philharmonic Orchestra, Homecoming Steering Committee and Griffiths Leadership Society for Women.
Through these organizations I was able to meet and work with some of the most intelligent, innovative and hardworking leaders on campus. I was able to find my place and make some lifelong friends and deep connections to Mizzou. When I think of my best memories in college, they all involve my participation in the organizations.
What question are you asked most often?
“Did you like it at Mizzou?”
Of course! I learned so much about myself and many different types of people. I loved the feel of being on a large campus, but also loved being involved in so many different “families” on campus. I could not recruit for Mizzou if it wasn’t truly something I believe in.
What question do you wish students would ask?
“What clubs or activities can I be a part of?”
We recommend participating in something related to your major and something purely for fun. There are more than 400 organizations on campus, so there are sure to be a few that you can take part in.
What compelled you to stay and work at Mizzou after graduation?
Being an admissions representative in my hometown is so appealing. I get to talk about something that I truly love day after day. I represent the types of memorable experiences and great educational opportunities that are available at Missouri’s flagship university. |
