Departmental examinations are limited to students who have fewer than 90 semester hours of college credit and no official record of previous enrollment in the course(s) in which credit is to be received.
Departmental examinations are comparable to final examinations given in the various courses offered on campus. Departments prepare different types of tests such as:
- Objective tests, administered and scored by University Test Administration Services
- Written tests administered and scored by the department
- Performance or proficiency tests administered by the department in such subjects as typing; shorthand; engineering graphics; industrial education; foreign language (reading, composition and conversation); and applied music.
For information regarding departmental exams, students should contact the MU department offering that subject matter. The following departmental exams are administered by University Test Administration Services:
- Math 1100 — College Algebra
- Foreign Language Placement Test — Spanish, French and German
