Important Dates
December 1: If you're applying for Mizzou scholarships, your admissions application and scholarship application are due today.
After December 1: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the following school year becomes available. The FAFSA cannot be submitted before Jan. 1.
March 1: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is due for priority consideration.
After April 1: Eligible students receive award letters for financial aid.
May 1: Last day to submit an admissions application for the following fall. If you wait until this date, limited financial aid is available.

VA Enrollment Status

Listed below are the course hours used to calculate student status for VA educational benefits certification. Please note that these classifications are set by the VA and may differ from school enrollment status.

Undergraduate Students

Status Fall/Spring Summer
Full time 12+ hours 6+ hours
3/4 time 9–11 hours 4–5 hours
1/2 time 6–8 hours 3 hours
< 1/2 time 5 hours or less 1–2 hours


Graduate Students

Status Fall/Spring Summer
Full time 9+ hours 4+ hours
3/4 time 6–8 hours 3 hours
1/2 time 4–5 hours 2 hours
< 1/2 time* < 4 hours < 2 hours

* If you are enrolled less than half time the VA will pay you in a lump sum amount.
